Ultra Renovations builds custom home renovations around your choices: the finishes you have already picked, or an unusual job that does not fit a standard category. AJ's crew works out of Lake Stevens and builds it the way you asked.
Before & after
A 30-year-old carved front door that needed new life, and a coffee stand floor that needed a new subfloor and a stronger structure underneath. Neither came out of a catalog.

A custom project only works if the builder follows your choices closely. This is how we handle that.
Tell us the products, colors and finishes you picked, and both the estimate and the build follow that list.
One customer called out our eye for detail. On a custom job, the small choices you made are the ones worth getting right.
We are a Latino-owned, bilingual company, so describe your idea in whichever language, English or Spanish, is easier for you.
Our workmanship carries a three-year warranty, and we go over how it applies to your project with the estimate.

About Ultra Renovations
Owner AJ Lopez Murillo grew up in the Pacific Northwest and worked across the trades, supervising team projects, before building Ultra around one value: professionalism is what separates a great contractor from an ordinary one.
Customers have brought AJ projects as different as finish work on an apartment, a dock renovation and a carport they wanted turned into a garage, and he treats each one as its own job.

How it works
Custom means the plan starts with you. Bring what you have, even if it is just a photo or a product name.
Phone (425) 268-0035 or fill out the form, and mention the finishes you have picked or the odd job you need done.
We visit, measure and look at what is there now, so we can tell you how your choices will fit.
We go over the scope and estimate with you in English or Spanish, based on your selections. Nothing starts until you say yes.
We build it to your choices and walk through the finished work with you before we call it done.

Custom Home Renovations FAQ
Custom home renovations are built around your own choices instead of a set package: the finishes, fixtures and details you pick, or a one-off project that does not fit a standard category. Our reviews mention custom jobs like a carport-to-garage conversion and a dock renovation.
Yes, that's the point of custom work. In one bathroom from our portfolio, the client chose the color and brand of each part before we began. Bring your list to the visit so it's part of the estimate.
Yes. Past jobs include refinishing a 30-year-old carved front door, a new subfloor and flooring at a Marysville coffee stand, and a pergola with privacy panels around a hot tub at Big Lake. If you are not sure it is something we do, ask.
It is a job we have been asked to take on: a customer's review mentions working with us on converting their carport into a garage. A conversion like this will likely need a building permit, and requirements vary by city, so we will talk about yours at the visit.
No. Some custom jobs start with a single product name or one photo. We see the space, measure, and tell you how your idea fits the house.
Ultra's workmanship comes with a three-year warranty. Because custom jobs vary, ask how the terms apply to yours when we go over the estimate.
Yes. Under Washington's residential energy code, an addition must meet new-construction rules, though the unaltered house does not. Additions of 150 square feet or less skip the extra efficiency credits; 150 to 500 square feet need 2.0 credits, and over 500 up to 1,500 need 5.0. Turning unconditioned space into living space is treated as an addition.
Yes, if it's EPA certified or exempt. Washington's code bans installing any new or used solid fuel burning device that isn't, except wood cook stoves and antique heaters built before 1940. In urban growth areas, primary heat in a new or substantially remodeled home (work over 60 percent of replacement value within 12 months) can't rely on a wood stove.
Yes. Washington L&I must inspect every new, altered or relocated conveyance used only in a single-family home, and before installation an elevator contractor holding an L&I license files the permit application and pays the fee. Residential types include elevators, inclined chair lifts, vertical lifts and dumbwaiters. Permits last one year, and annual inspections happen only if the owner asks.
Washington L&I, unless the home is inside a city that runs its own electrical program. Everett, Lynnwood and Marysville issue their own electrical permits and inspections, as do Redmond and Seattle in King County; Lake Stevens, Arlington, Monroe, Mill Creek and unincorporated areas go through L&I. Whoever issues the permit also does the inspection.
Often, yes. Washington's amendment to the residential code lets used sawn lumber with a grade mark, in good condition and free of decay, count as meeting wall-framing requirements. Unmarked 2-inch lumber 6 inches wide or narrower is treated as spruce-pine-fir stud grade, and other unmarked dimensional lumber as hem-fir No. 2, with structural values assigned on that basis.
Sí. Somos una empresa latina y bilingüe, y todo su proyecto puede hacerse en español, desde la primera llamada hasta la entrega final.
