One finished room, one wall opened up

A bathroom that went from a dark vanity and shower curtain to a white vanity, new tub surround and matte black fixtures, and a Seattle wall rebuilt after a roof leak reached the studs and insulation. A bigger remodel usually has both sides: the finishes you see and the repairs behind them.

About Ultra Renovations

Owner-led and Latino-owned, based in Lake Stevens

Owner AJ Lopez Murillo grew up in the Pacific Northwest and worked across the trades, supervising team projects, before building Ultra around one value: professionalism is what separates a great contractor from an ordinary one.

AJ's own site says Ultra can carry out renovation work throughout a property. On a whole-home project, that means one plan for the house rather than a string of separate jobs.

Whole-Home Remodeling FAQ

Whole home remodeling questions

What is whole home remodeling?+

Whole home remodeling means updating several rooms, or most of a house, as one planned project instead of one room at a time. The rooms are designed to match, and the work is scheduled as one job.

Can we live in the house during a whole home remodel?+

Often, yes, depending on which rooms are involved. We plan the order of the work with you so you know which rooms you'll be without at each stage, and one deck customer wrote that our crew stayed respectful of someone still living in the home.

Is it better to remodel everything at once or one room at a time?+

Doing it all at once means one round of disruption and rooms that are planned to work together. Going one room at a time spreads out the cost. We can help you decide which order makes sense for your house.

Which rooms can be part of a whole home remodel?+

Kitchens and bathrooms are our main focus. A whole-home project can also include flooring, drywall and ceilings, painting, and repairs like water damage.

How much does a whole home remodel cost?+

The number of rooms, the finishes you pick and what turns up once walls and floors are opened all affect the price. We put a number on a whole-home project after walking the house with you.

Do you take on whole home remodeling outside Lake Stevens?+

Yes. Besides Lake Stevens, we work across Snohomish County and in Seattle, north King County and the Eastside.

Will upgrading my electrical panel during a remodel require an emergency disconnect in Washington?+

Often, yes. Under L&I rules, replacing service equipment on a one- or two-family home requires an emergency disconnect if the service amperage goes up or down, or if the service disconnect, meter base, overhead mast or underground riser is moved. The 2023 NEC puts it in a readily accessible outdoor spot on or within sight of the home.

Does a new electrical panel need a whole-house surge protector in Washington?+

Usually, yes. The 2023 National Electrical Code, which Washington has enforced since April 1, 2024, requires a Type 1 or Type 2 surge-protective device on services that supply homes, installed in or next to the service equipment and rated at least 10 kA. The rule also applies when that equipment is replaced, so budget for one with a panel upgrade.

Can I use battery-powered smart switches in a whole home remodel?+

Only if the lights come on when the battery dies. The 2023 National Electrical Code, which Washington enforces, bars switches that rely only on a battery unless the lighting turns on automatically at battery failure. Every habitable room, kitchen, laundry area and bathroom needs a wall-mounted control, and stairs with six or more risers need one at each floor level.

What pipe can be used to replumb a house in Snohomish County?+

In unincorporated Snohomish County, plastic water lines inside a home must be CPVC or PEX, and copper drinking-water lines need lead-free solder. Drain and vent piping can be cast iron, galvanized, copper DWV, ABS or PVC. A pressure-reducing valve is required if street pressure is 80 psi or more, and the incoming water line needs an accessible shutoff valve.

Which remodeling projects return the most at resale in the Seattle area?+

Smaller exterior and kitchen updates. In the 2025 Cost vs. Value report for Seattle, a steel entry door replacement recouped 157% of its cost, a garage door replacement 123.3% and a midrange minor kitchen remodel 118.1%. Large projects recoup far less: a midrange primary suite addition averaging $219,378 recouped 27.1%. Plan a whole home remodel around how you'll live.

¿Hablan español?+

Sí. Somos una empresa latina y bilingüe, y todo su proyecto puede hacerse en español, desde la primera llamada hasta la entrega final.
